Who we are

Tucker Benjamin

Growing up in the suburbs of the Twin Cities, becoming a sheep farmer was at the bottom of Tucker’s list when it came to future careers. When Tucker and Brooke met in 2012 he quickly became involved in the dog sport world. It wasn’t until 2014 he adopted his first Border Collie, Makoons. Later, in 2018, Tucker had an opportunity for an unexpected herding lesson with friend and mentor, Gordon Watt. It was since then Tucker has been hooked. From collegiate football athlete turned Wisconsin sheep farmer Tucker truly embraces all that comes with stockmanship. From the early mornings to late nights, caring for the farm and growing his flock of Cheviot sheep has become a passion. One, that he hopes to share with his family and friends. When not taking care of the farm Tucker also strives to pursue his competitive nature by competing with his dogs in USBCHA herding trials.

Brooke Benjamin

Growing up in the east side of St. Paul, MN Brooke always had a desire for country life. As a child, she grew up with dogs and a few pet birds. She had always wanted to pursue equine sports but at the age of 10 found the sport of dog agility. It was then, she transitioned her focus from equine to canine sports. At the age of 10 Brooke’s parents surprised her with her first Border Collie, Lady. To say a dog can change the course of one’s life is nothing but the truth. For 16 years together Brooke and Lady shared a friendship of a lifetime. Together they traveled all over the country competing in various dog agility organizations. Now, nearly 20 years later, Brooke’s love for her dogs, country life, and training has only grown. Today, she and her husband have built Benjamin Farms around those passions. When not helping care for the farm, Brooke enjoys training her dogs in both agility and herding or teaching dog agility classes. She too aspires to compete along side her husband in USBCHA herding trials.
